AUXILIARY MEMBERS

Auxiliary Members are surviving spouses of officers who would be eligible for membership if living.  Auxiliary members may hold office and have the same voting rights as officers who are "regular" members.  Auxiliary members receive a discount on dues.  About one fourth of VIPMOAA members are auxiliary members.  VIPMOAA encourages auxiliary members to be involved in the organization.

SPECIAL AUXILIARY LUNCHEON HELD JULY 2009

MOAA asked each chapter to appoint an Auxiliary Liaison, to act as a link to the MOAA Auxiliary Committee of the MOAA Board.

VIPMOAA Auxiliary Liaison position is vacant.
It was previously held first by Karen Hornstein and then by Jackie Peters (they also served two yeras each as the Virginia Council of Chapters Auxiliary Liaison).

Jackie Peters
"As an auxiliary, it is doubly important for me to stand up and be counted!  Legislators must be constantly reminded of the importance of the benefits of those of us left to star in this new "role."  MOAA's magazine and web site keep me informed of upcoming legislation, changes in TRICARE for Life and virtually all military activities and interests.  MOAA, whether National or my local chapter, keeps me involved and connected with the military community."  /  Jackie Peters, testimonial, from MOAA Website

TELL YOUR STORY.  Surviving spouses are invited to share their story, testimonial and/or original article.  Send with photo to MOAA at auxcomm@moaa.org
