VCOC State Council MOAA

Active in the Virginia Council of Chapters (VCOC) MOAA
All Virginia chapters of MOAA are affiliated with the Virginia Council of Chapters (VCOC), which meets quarterly and holds two key legislative events each year - storming the state capitol in Richmond and the Virginia Congressional Luncheon in Washington DC.  VIPMOAA participates fully in the VCOC.  VIPMOAA member, LTC Blair Smith, USA, Ret is a past president of the VCOC.   VIPMOAA's  VCOC Rep is COL Jim Pauls, USAF, Ret.  VIPMOAA's Legislative Chair, Membership Chair and Public Affairs Officer are on VCOC committees.    VIPMOAA president and other VIPMOAA members participate in VCOC quarterly meetings and other events.  See Legislative section concerning annual storming Richmond's capitol hill and annual Congressional Appreciation Luncheon in DC.

VIPMOAA hosted the 2007 biennial meetings of the VCOC at Fort Monroe Virginia.  The 2011 biennial meetings were at Patriots Colony, Williamsburg, which is also in VIPMOAA's area.  

There are 18 chartered MOAA chapters in Virginia, including the latest two added in 2009.  You may view the list of chapters on the VCOC website, chapters section.  Zipcode listings for each chapter are also on the VCOC website.

VCOC 2nd Vice President 2010-2011, Melva Mallison, receives the VCOC Minuteman Award from VCOC President, Sam Wilder, COL, USA, Ret at VCOC MOAA biennial meeting 13 Oct 2011. Mallison is a past president of VIPMOAA and served as VCOC Public Affairs Officer, Web Manager and Editor of The Council Crier for six years.
