| VIRGINIA WOUNDED WARRIOR PROGRAM (VWWP) |
The Virginia Wounded Warrior program is a unique state program, established by the Virginia General Assembly, per legislation promoted by Virginia chapters of MOAA, within the Joint Leadership Council of Veterans Services Organizations.
In addition to supporting the creation of the initiative, Virginia Chapters, including our own Virginia Peninsula chapter, help with fund raising.
Virginia Wounded Warrior Program staff work directly with the Community Services Boards and other state government agencies, to help Virginia veterans, Virginia National Guard and Virginia reservists and their families, when the veteran or service member has Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) or stress disorders such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). VWWP can also help active duty members in Virginia to a lesser degree, as those individuals generally receive federally-funded services.
